Biomimetic dentistry is the most advanced, logical, and scientifically supported approach to provide restorative dentistry. This interactive online course includes everything you need to start practicing biomimetic restorative dentistry immediately. The training includes the scientific foundation, fundamental techniques, and procedure protocols for direct and indirect posterior restorations. Dr. Nejad has been practicing and training dentists in Biomimetic Dentistry for over a decade, and with this online course format, you can now learn everything from the comfort of your own home with ample interaction and review for a truly exceptional experience. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn about the biomimetic approach and the many advantages over traditional dental procedures .
Traditional dental procedures rely on preparation designs that accommodate the restorative material or technique. This includes preparation features such as retention and resistance form, as well as tooth reduction to meet the strength requirements of the restorative material instead of prioritizing the preservation of intact tooth structure. As a result, the restored tooth has significant additional preparation and a significantly higher chance of complications such as pain, sensitivity, root canal treatment, recession, and fracture.
In contrast, the Biomimetic approach unites an understanding and appreciation of the biomechanics of natural teeth with principles and techniques which maximize adhesion. These concepts comprise the necessary components to mimic the natural tooth most faithfully. Restorative materials replicate the properties of the dental structures (enamel, dentin, dej) and healthy intact tooth structure is preserved through adhesion without additional preparation requirements. The biomimetically restored tooth mimics the strength, function, and esthetics of natural teeth. Biomimetic restorations include composite fillings, partial coverage restorations (ceramic or resin inlays and onlays), and when necessary, full-coverage ceramic restorations. However, the application technique and material selection makes a significant difference in the performance of these techniques, and therefore it is important to have a sound understanding of the science.
Course Registration Includes:
The course consists of high-quality video lessons and technique demonstrations that cover what, why, and how to practice biomimetic restorative dentistry.
Accessibility for interaction, discussion, and review is a critical aspect of learning biomimetic dentistry. Course participation includes a convenient Course Discussion Board available for the duration of the course. Additionally, participants can join any of the scheduled Live Office Hour options. Office hours are conveniently scheduled to provide versatility and accessibility for all attendees (international and domestic). These options provide ample accessibility to ask any questions and review any of the course material, concepts, or techniques with Dr. Nejad.

Frequently Asked Questions
- No, they are optional. You can attend any session or all sessions. Its up to you.
- The course covers the fundamental preparation design principles. Biomimetic restorative dentistry is unique in that there is no stricted standardized preparation design and that is extremely important to preserve tooth structure and pulp vitality. Preparations are guided by the structural integrity of the tooth and the clinical condition. Certain key principles must be followed, but there is significant flexibility in preparation designs depending on the clinical condition, clinical objective, and the restorative material used. This course will cover the fundamental design principles, but a detailed hands-on preparation course is being developed for 2022.
- Sample materials will be sent to US attendees only due to international regulations and corporate limitations from sponsoring companies. The materials usually arrive after the course is completed, and some materials may arrive separately if they are back-ordered or out of stock. This has usually been the case since the pandemic has disrupted the manufacturing and distribution of materials significantly.
- Completion of the course includes two certificates including a Certificate of Completion and a Continued Education Certificate. To receive these certificates, you are required to complete all lessons, and pass the final examination during the access period. The certificates will be immediately emailed.
- The course is online and the lessons consist of high-quality recordings. The only live sessions are the optional office-hours for questions, review, and discussion.
- Yes. The course is online and the lessons can be accessed anywhere with a suitable internet connection once you log in to the site.
- No. CE can only be awarded based on course completion. There is more than enough time to complete the lessons and the required examination. The examination can be taken as many times as needed and there is no partial CE awarded if the course is not completed fully.
- The Level I course includes a 30-day access period. Once this is completed, you will lose access to the course materials and lessons. For additional access, the Level II course includes all the Level I lessons and materials for review and reference. Level II provides an extended 6-months of online access to all materials.
- Once the course begins, you can access the lectures at anytime. However, the course lessons must be completed in order, so you will not be able to skip ahead in lessons. You can rewatch any previous lessons completed at anytime during the 30-day access period.
- The live office are on the last Saturday of the month at 9AM & 4PM Pacific Standard Time (PST).
- The only live component of the course is the live office hour sessions that are conducted through zoom. Attendance is not required. These sessions are optional.
- The course includes a series of recorded high-quality videos in a lecture format. The lectures cover the foundation and techniques of biomimetic restorative dentistry. You can watch the videos as many times as you want, anytime during the access period (30-days). There is a question board to leave questions or comments. You can also attend one of the live-office hours for questions, discussion, and review.
